Tasca Cup

The first night in Lisbon. My brother and I stepped into a small tasca - a laid-back traditional Portuguese tavern - and had an incredible experience that felt like having dinner at a friends home. No fuss or grand plating, no strict decor or flatware. Stunningly simple yet delicious food, wine served casually in short glasses, and a vivacious atmosphere of friends coming in off the street with a homemade birthday cake. Instead of feeling like outsiders, we were welcomed with smiles and an open bottle of plum liqueur to share with the table next to us. A truly special night.

This feeling of casual connection over food and drink, without pretence or fuss, is what inspired the tasca cup. Great for a flat white, but even better with wine and new friends. 

It holds around 250 mL.
